THE DARBY PREFERRED VENDORS:

Are people, not companies. Since a company’s integrity comes from the people in it, we only recommend specific people. It can be expected that a company made up of people we recommend will meet our standards. Since we cannot have a relationship with a company, we only recommend people.

Are true craftsmen/women. They are experts with a long track record, a list of references, a trail of evidence and pride in their work. True craftsmen wear the evidence on their person and on their face. There is a certain inability to drop below their high standards.

Care for people. No amount of quality will make up for the dissatisfying impact of relational indifference. Darby believes in partnering with customers and experts in a relational environment to get projects done. Our preferred vendors believe the same thing.

Communicate. They will talk about your project with you. They will listen to your wants, needs, questions and concerns. They will respond with clarity and helpful explanation

Are available and reliable. If you need to talk to your DPV, you will be able to get in touch with them. They will show up when they promised and call back as expected.

Are respecters of persons. You are not just another job. You are a person with a real life. Your project impacts your life. Your DPVs recognize and account for that. It’s a relationship.

Are safe around your family. You will feel comfortable having DPVs on your property.

Are polite and clean. Keep in mind, these are people who work hard. Cleanliness has different forms

Adhere to government requirements. Contractors are licensed, bonded and properly insured. Employees are covered by appropriate insurance and paid fairly. Your financial liability is minimized by Darby Preferred Vendor responsibility.

Are members of third party industry organizations specific to the building industry or their trade.

Give the real price the first time. This is not the same as cheap, and it does not mean expensive. Darby preferred vendors expect to get paid what they are worth. They do not undercut on price; there are no deals.

Have References. You will be able to ask for and receive references from Darby Preferred vendors.

Are Accountable to Darby Rural Corporation and other vendors in its network.

Have signed Darby Rural Corporation's rural Code of Ethics.
